The Hess cemetery, near the log farmhouse, is a historic burial site for Hess family members. There are more than 25 burials here, including Jacob Hess, who immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1717.

Burials include second-generation through seventh-generation Hesses. The first-generation immigrant Hesses are buried at the Hans Hess Cemetery near Willow Street, Lancaster County.

The grave markers are surrounded by a masonry wall. The cemetery has been maintained by the nearby Hess Mennonite Church, and is now maintained by a home owners' association.
