This photo album and scrapbook was created by Miss Sydney King Shaar, a student at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She assembled this album circa 1918 and 1918.
The 1920 U. S. Federal Census identified this Sydney K. Shaar as the daughter of Charles O. Shaar and Elamor Shaar, who lived in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, in Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County. This family lived with the Sydney's grandparents: Jacob Shaar and Amanda Shaar, who were the parents of Syndeys father Charles.
The 1910 census locates this same three-generation family living in Steelton, Pennsylvania, in Dauphin County.

I puchased this album from an antiques dealer here in Pennsylvania.
Condition: No library or institution markings. Many of the photos have been removed from this album, previous to my purchasing it, but 14 photos remain, along with all the other items listed above. Some of the photos are inserted looseleaf. Page and cover are securely attached. Cove is in very nice condition, with only minor rubbing.
