"Heather and Charles Matthews of Union, Conn. visited the festival at the start of their vacation, en route to Gettysburg for the Fourth and then on to the Great Smoky Mountains for camping. A co-worker had told Heather about the festival and its authenticity as a spotlight on Pennsylvania German folk life, and the couple attended with children William and Lexie, and with 'Digsby,' the family's goldendoodle. Leashed dogs are allowed."
